Formed in Berlin in 1994, Rammstein is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band. For you non-German speaking folks, Neue Deutsche Härte translates to “new German hardness” in English. In other words, Rammstein is a dance-metal band, and a very popular one at that.
In the years since Rammstein was founded, their lineup has not changed. Till Lindemann as the lead vocals, Richard Z Kruspe on lead guitar, Paul Landers as their rhythm guitarist, Oliver Riedel on bass, Christoph Schneider on drums, and Christian “Flake” Lorenz on keyboard. This group has rocked its way across Germany, Europe, and the entire world, providing one-of-a-kind entertainment with their jaw-dropping shows.
Nearly all of Rammstein’s songs are in German, but that never stopped the band from amassing fans from around the world. Rammstein’s fame is in part due to their over-the-top stage show, where they make extensive use of pyrotechnics, and do not underestimate the use of “extensive” here. Lindemann is a licensed pyrotechnician, and spends entire songs engulfed head-to-toe in flames. The bands affinity for fire led to fans eventually coining the motto “Other bands play, Rammstein burns!” Along with the pyrotechnics, the band sports incredibly outlandish costumes that aid in performance and storytelling of each song. A Rammstein concert is not just an event, it is an experience, and it is one you do not want to miss out on. Get your Rammstein tickets before they sell out!
