The tour will kick off at The Smith Center in Las Vegas, NV on September 4, and then continue through Tempe, AZ; San Diego, CA; Seattle, WA; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; St. Louis, MO; Providence, RI; Grand Rapids, MI; Hartford, CT; and Boston, MA, to name a few, with a final set of dates at the Peace Center in Greenville, SC. Kinky Boots was written by 80s songstress Cyndi Lauper and Broadway legend Harvey “Edna Turnblad” Fierstein. It's inspired by a true story and based on a 2005 movie of the same name that starred 12 Years A Slave actor and Academy Award-nominee Chiwetel Ejiofo and tells the tale of Charlie, a straitlaced (pun intended) owner of a shoe factory, and Lola, a local drag queen, and how they team up to save Charlie’s business. For its original Broadway run, Kinky Boots received six Tony Awards, including statues for Best Musical and Best Score. The musical’s cast album premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard Cast Albums chart and No 51. on the Billboard 200 chart.
