Born in New York City, raise in Dallas, Texas, Shlesinger was the 2008 winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing and went on to host the dating show Excused, while also hosting her own late-night talk show in 2017 called Truth & Iliza on Freeform!
Shlesinger is a Texas native, attended Emerson College in Boston where she majored in film and writing, and studied Spanish and Mandarin Chinese in her early high school days!
She is also one of few American comedians that has an international fan base, one that is so loyal, they even create their own custom Iliza inspire merch! Her fourth Netflix Special, Elder Millennial, was recorded aboard the USS Hornet, at the USS Hornet Sea, Air, and Space Museum in Alameda, California in 2018, she can do her thing anywhere!
