Jersey Boys tells the story of the popular 1960s and 1970s band Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, a group which is popular for many songs such as "Chameleon", "Who Loves You", "Oh What a Night" and "Rag Doll". The musical recounts the early years of the Four Seasons, how they came together, and how they had to face fame and fortune at the height of their international popularity. The Jersey Boys musical won four 2006 Tony Awards, including "Best Musical".
The Jersey Boys themselves, The Four Seasons, have become a legendary part of history with their pop and rock style that also mixed in doo wop, R&B, motown, and disco influences. The group formed in 1967 and remains together today and still releases albums. Reminiscing on life in the Northeastern United States, as the Beach Boys had done for Southern California, the Four Seasons reached a popularity rivaling that of the Beach Boys and the Beatle mania spreading across the United States mainland. This is the story of Jersey Boys the musical, of how a group of youngsters from New Jersey became one of the most popular musical groups of that era.
Jersey Boys theater productions currently have residence in New York (where it debuted in 2005), Las Vegas, Chicago and London. The musical will also tour up and down the eastern seaboard of the United States for the next several months visiting a number of venues including the Bushnell in Hartford, Connecticut, the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center in Orlando, Florida.

About Jersey Boys
The musical Jersey Boys follows the formation and rise to success of one of the most popular bands of the 1960s, The Four Seasons. With songs that evoke the feel of New York, and sounds unlike anything of their time, the Four Seasons racked up over two dozen Top Forty singles. The Four Seasons had to contend with the popularity of The Beatles and a dip in album sales, but come back stronger than ever. The show aims to take viewers back to the 1960's music scene and Jersey Boys features many Four Seasons songs like "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Sherry", and "Walk Like a Man."
Yet, Jersey Boys does more then just reminisce on songs from the past; it tells a story to which many people can relate. Growing up in working class New Jersey, the Four Seasons struggled as they grew from a group of guys born on the wrong side of the tracks to superstardom. The musical looks at this narrative and examines how it affected the lives of the band members and how their success influenced popular culture. Like the Beach Boys did for life in Southern California, the Four Seasons gave listeners a sense of what it was like to live in the northeastern United States. This formula created some of the most memorable songs from that era.
Based on the book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, the Jersey Boys Broadway production won Best Musical at the 2006 Tony Awards. The show's music is by Bob Gaudio, a member of the original Four Seasons and the lyrics are by Bob Crewe, a former Four Seasons producer. The show has become immensely popular since its debut, and is now in residence in four cities. The success of Jersey Boys has allowed it to tour in two companies. Part of that success may derive from the relatively uncensored nature of the story telling. The show's creators do not give a white washed and glorified version of the Four Seasons. Instead, they tell the complete story, including the good times and bad times.
