About Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan was born as Robert Zimmerman on May 24, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota. At high school dances, he imitated rock stars like Elvis Presley and Little Richard on the piano. Later he attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and started playing folk and country songs at cafes. He called himself "Bob Dylan," after the late Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Bob Dylan dropped out of college in 1960 and moved to New York City. He began writing songs prolifically, and released his first album, Bob Dylan , in 1962.
