Boxing is a sport that involves two people, or opposing boxers, who conduct a fistfight in rounds lasting roughly 3 minutes apiece. The origins of boxing go back to ancient times, but a set of general rules, called the Marquess of Queensberry Rules, have been in place since the 19th century. The winner of a boxing match is generally the last person standing at the end of the match, either by means of a knockout (KO), a technical knockout (TKO), or the referee's decision based on a number of factors pertaining to the fight itself.
